Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy," has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

The tumescent technique is a relatively new liposuction method that can reduce post operative bruising, swelling and pain.

Because blood loss is minimized during tumescent liposuction, use of the technique reduces the chance that a blood transfusion will be needed. In the tumescent technique, areas of excess fat are injected with a large amount of anesthetic liquid before liposuction is per-formed. The liquid causes the compartments of fat to become swollen and firm or "tumesced." The expanded fat compartments allow the liposuction cannula to travel smoothly beneath the skin as the fat is removed.

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Plastic surgeons will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases your plastic surgeon may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

A thigh lift is a procedure to remove excess skin and fat from either the inner or outer thighs of individuals in whom liposuction alone will not correct the aesthetic deformity. Candidates for a thigh lift are usually those who have had extreme weight gains and losses or have developed laxity due to age. The thigh lift removes lax skin and fat and places the scars in locations that can be hidden within the bikini line.

Body lift means cosmetic plastic surgery for more than one areas of the body. Those areas may include the stomach, breast, arms, back and thighs. It is used frequently after a massive loss of body weight either from diet or as a result from beriatric surgery. The body lift can be performed where each procedure is done separately or several procedures can be performed together (depends on the patient's health, tolerance of discomfort, etc). Being the excess skin the principal problem to correct.

Mesotherapy is the aesthetic medical specialty, (approved by the FDA and created in France) employing the technique of multiple micro injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, standardized natural plant extracts and vitamins into the mesoderm. The mesoderm is the layer of adipose fat cells and connective tissue under the skin. Micro-doses of medications are administered into targeted sites for treatment of general medical problems, evolving over time to include the cosmetic spectrum of body sculpting, cellulite reduction and skin rejuvenation, targeted fat reduction and overall weight loss.

Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a "tummy tuck," is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. But bear in mind, it does produce a permanent scar, which, depending on the extent of the original problem and the surgery required to correct it, can extend from hip to hip.

Buttock augmentation: surgical procedure that will define or increase the size and shape of the buttock area.
A part of the body not easily enlarged, shaped by weight training or diet is the buttocks region. People who wish to enlarge, lift, and shape the buttock mounds, have a variety of different buttock implants from which to choose. The decision for the shape and size of the implants is made depending on each person’s individual desires and their general body type. It is guided by the surgeon's personal experience from having performed many such procedures in the past. Buttock implants are very soft, SOLID SILICONE implants and are completely unlike breast implants, which are soft, FLUID-FILLED sacks.

Generally, anyone in average physical condition or good health can be a candidate for buttock augmentation surgery. There is also the Fat Graft or Brazilian Butt Augmentation, Which merely depends on the patient's particular case and anatomy.
